To use Access Elite Evo, you need to connect your Elite desktop data to the Access Evo platform. The process to follow depends on whether you use Access Elite Embedded or Access Elite SQL. Each is described below. Note that you may need your system administrator to assist.
Set up Access Elite Embedded
To set up Access Elite Evo for Elite embedded, you will:
Download the Elite Data Loader.
Install the Data Loader.
Connect your Elite data to Access Evo.
Each task is described below.
Download the Elite Embedded Data Loader
To download the Data Loader:
Log in to the computer/server where Elite Embedded is installed.
Download the Elite Evo Data Loader and ODBC driver:
Install and connect the Data Loader for Elite Embedded
To install the Elite Embedded Data Loader:
On the computer/server where Elite is installed, open Windows Explorer and go to your Downloads folder.
Double-click Elevate_ODBC_Driver_Setup.exe to run it.
Right-click on the Access-Evo-SQL-Data-Loader file then select Properties.
From the General tab, tick Unblock, then click Apply, OK.
Right-click on the Data Loader zip file, select Extract All and then click Extract.
The zip file will be extracted to a new folder.
In the new folder location, click \SQL\64Bit and then double-click DataLoaderSetup64.exe to run it.
If asked, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? click Yes.
When the pop-up message Please click through the installer is displayed, click OK.
The Access Driver wizard begins. Click Next through the wizard, ensuring you read and agree to the terms of the license agreement when asked.
At Confirm Installation Details, click Install.
When the install wizard finishes installing the driver, click Finish. Elite 32bit Data Loader is now installed.
A pop-up Data Loader screen is displayed.
If you don't see the Data Loader pop-up screen, go to Windows Start, Run, type in Data Loader and then double-click ClicData DataLoader to open the screen.
Click the settings icon at the top right of the Data Loader screen to open the settings screen.
Copy and paste the Data Loader Security Token into the Security Token field, then click Save (Refer section Set Up security Token).
The application is successfully installed when the DataLoader service status says Running.
Connect your Elite data
To connect your data:
Open Elite Practice Management and go to File, Setup Manager.
Click the Options tab.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen. In the Job Data Extraction Configuration area, enter a Data Connector User Name (for example, EliteEvo) and create a Password. Then click the Copy Connection String button.
Note: Depending on the size of your database, this step can take up to several hours to complete, and you must ensure all users are logged out of Elite during the process. You can perform this step at a later, more convenient time, but note that your data wont be available to use in Access Evo until you complete this process.
Ensure all users are logged out of Elite.
Click Perform Job Data Extraction to extract data from all applicable jobs.
Log in to Access Evo.
Click the Access Button and then click Products.
Select Data Engine.
The Data Engine tab is displayed.
Click the three-line "hamburger menu" on the top-left of the screen and select Data Loaders to display the Data Loaders screen.
Locate A-aca - Dataloader - EDB - Elite and then click the properties cog at the end of the row.
Click Connections at the top of the Data Loader screen.
Locate E - bba - Connection - Elite Embedded and then click the drop-down arrow at the end of the row and select Properties.
Click the DSN tab on the left-hand menu.
In the Connection String box, paste the connection string from Elite Practice Management using Ctrl-V or right click in the box and click Paste.
Click Save.
You've now established a connection to your Elite Embedded server. If you didn't perform the Job Data Extraction at step 4, remember to carry out this process as soon as possible so you can use your Elite data with Access Evo.

Set up Access Elite SQL
To set up Access Elite Evo for Elite SQL, you will:
Download the Elite SQL Data Loader.
Install the Data Loader.
Connect your Elite data.

Download the Elite SQL Data Loader
To download the Data Loader:
Log in to the server where Elite SQL is installed.
Download the Elite SQL Evo Data Loader:
Install and connect the Data Loader for Elite SQL
To carry out this task, you'll need your SQL server name, username and password. If you're not sure, ask your system administrator.
To install and connect the Data Loader for Elite SQL:
On the server or computer where Elite is installed, open Windows Explorer and go to your Downloads folder.
Right-click on the Data Loader zip file then select Properties.
From the General tab, tick Unblock, then click Apply, OK.
Right-click the Data Loader zip file, select Extract All and then click Extract.
The zip file unpacks into a new sub-folder.
In the new folder location, open \SQL\64Bit, double-click DataLoaderSetup64.exe to run it.
If asked, Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, click Yes.
The Access Driver wizard begins. Click Next through the wizard, ensuring you read and agree to the terms of the license agreement when asked.

Elite 64bit Data Loader is now installed and a pop-up Data Loader screen is displayed.
If you don't see the Data Loader pop-up screen, go to Windows Start, Run, type in Data Loader and then double-click ClicData DataLoader to open the screen.
Click the settings icon at the top right of the Data Loader screen to open the Settings screen.
Copy and paste the Data Loader Security Token into the Security Token field, then click Save (Refer section Set Up security Token).
The application is successfully installed when the DataLoader service status is Running.
Set up security token
Follow these steps to connect Data Loader to Data Engine.
In Data Engine, click the cog icon for your product, Elite.
Go to Properties, General and copy the security token.
Open ClicData DataLoader.
Click the cog icon, paste the token and click Save.
Connect your Elite SQL data
To connect your data:
Open Elite Practice Management and go to File, Setup Manager.
Click the Options tab.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to the Job Data Extraction Configuration area.
Ask your system administrator to provide your SQL Server credentials. We recommend your system administrator creates a new user with read-only access for this purpose.
Enter the credentials in the Data Connector User Name and Password fields and then click the Copy Connection String button.

You can perform this step at a later, more convenient time, but note that your data wont be available to use in Access Evo until you complete this process.

Locate E - aba - Connection – Elite SQL then click the drop-down arrow at the end of the row and select Properties.
Click the DSN tab on the left-hand menu.
In the Connection String box, paste the connection string from Elite Practice Management by using Ctrl-V or right click in the box and click Paste.
Click Save.
You've now established a connection to your Elite SQL server. If you didn't perform the Job Data Extraction at step 4, remember to carry out this process as soon as possible so you can use your Elite data with Access Evo.
