Check whether the taxpayer has been recorded as being covered by a Medicare exemption certificate for the full 365 days.
An exemption from the Medicare levy applies only if either:
The taxpayer has no dependants for that period.
All dependants qualify for an exemption during that period.
📌Note: Entering ‘0’ in the number of dependants field will result in the taxpayer still being assessed for the Medicare levy. To indicate no dependants for the entire year, you must enter 365 days. This will ensure that no Medicare levy is calculated.
