Tax: The error raised is: Printer selected is not valid

'Tax Elite has failed to load correctly. The startup action being performed was: Creating form view. The error raised is: Printer selected is not valid'.

This issue occurs when no printer is installed on the machine. You will need to select a default printer, if none are available, select Microsoft Print to PDF as your default printer.

Follow the steps to below set Microsoft Print to PDF as the default printer.

  1. Open Settings.

  2. Select Bluetooth & devices, Printers & scanners.

  3. Locate and select Microsoft Print to PDF.

  4. Click Set as default.

  5. Close Settings and reopen the Tax return.

If Microsoft Print to PDF is not listed:

  1. Open Control Panel.

  2. Select Programs, Turn Windows features on or off.

  3. Ensure Microsoft Print to PDF is enabled.

  4. Click OK and allow Windows to complete the installation.

  5. Return to Printers & scanners and set it as the default printer.
