Known Issue — T7 and T8 Tax Offsets (ESIC/ESVCLP)
The ATO has identified an issue affecting the T7 (Early Stage Investor Tax Offset) and T8 (Early Stage Venture Capital Limited Partnership Tax Offset) fields. This issue originates from the ATO's SBR specification and is pending a fix from the ATO, expected to be delivered on 18 July 2026.
Users who need to claim a T7 or T8 offset through direct investment, or entitlement through a partnership will be unable to lodge the return until that update has been applied. We recommend these clients hold their return and attempt lodgement following our next update. Where a claim at T7 or T8 offset is made due to a managed fund or trust distribution only, users will be able to lodge these returns without issue.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will communicate further once the fix has been confirmed.
Future year returns
From the 1 July 2026 until the 15 June 2027, the 2026 Elite tax forms can be used to create a ‘future-year’ 2026 tax return where required. A future year return is a tax form that is lodged before the end of the current reporting period. For example, a 2026–2027 tax return lodged before the end of the 2027 financial year.
A future year return must be lodged no later than the 15 June of that financial year.
For FBT returns, the lodgement must be made no later than the 31 March of that financial year.
