Practice Management: Locate the Windows AppData folder and show hidden folders

This article explains the Microsoft Windows AppData folder, including how to locate it and how to display it if it is hidden. The AppData folder is hidden by default in Windows.

To open the AppData folder on Windows 10

  1. Open Windows, File Explorer

  2. Type %AppData% into the address bar and click Enter.

  3. Navigate to the required folder (Roaming or Local).

  1. Open File Explorer from the taskbar.

  2. Select View, Options, Change folder, and search options.

  3. Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK.
